He saves me. Three little words that carry such weight. The entire verse from Psalm 18 reads, “I will call on the Lord who is worthy of praise, for he saves me from my enemies.” Psalm 18:3 NLT
What do you need saving from today?
Is the enemy of your soul hard at work, whittling down your faith, dispelling your trust in the living God? Are the voices of fear and “what ifs” slowing you down? Even paralyzing you in your Christian walk? He saves me. Try saying it. When fear rises up and almost chokes you, try speaking to your spirit and let the words calm your heart and quiet your mind. He saves me. Listen to the voice of the Lord above the wind and the waves of the turmoil around you. Hear Him calling you to come close, to draw near, to find refuge in the presence of the Lover of your soul, the Keeper of your life.
He saves me.
I have no doubt that God will intervene in your situation. I know He can be trusted. The key to salvation in the midst of perilous times or hard decisions is to call on the Lord. And to look for His saving response.
Take a moment now. Whatever is troubling you or causing distress, bring it before the Lord. Ask Him to step in. Ask Him to give you wisdom. Ask Him to grant you courage.
Someone once told me they didn’t think God cared about the “small” things of their lives, but I’m here to tell you that God cares about every aspect of your life. You are His child! You are His creation! Grab hold of the omnipresence of the God Who sees all and knows all and cares.
He saves me. Let that be your battle cry as you walk through today. As you risk a new relationship or tackle an uncomfortable situation. Let that be the banner over your life as you raise your kids in the Lord in a counter-Christian culture.
We live in exceptional times. The challenge to live a Christian life and hold on to your beliefs are fierce. But the word of God is still true. There is nothing to fear when you are in God’s hands. Call out and let Him save you. Meditate on Psalm 18 and let God’s truth dispel every fear in your life.
“I love you, Lord; you are my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the strength of my salvation and my stronghold. I will call on the Lord, who is worthy of praise, for he saves me from my enemies.”
— Psalm 18:1-3 NLT
