Stand Firm

What do you do when turmoil swirls around you? We’re still in the midst of the pandemic and now vaccine mandate wars have begun. I met someone the other day who was seeking out a new job because she knew it wouldn’t be long before she would be fired for non-compliance.

You may be reading this long after the pandemic and all its troubles are past, but your personal life may be in turmoil. It’s hard to escape the trial and tribulation of this world. But in the midst of it, you can stand firm.

Firm – not in an unwieldly, stubborn sense, but firm in the knowledge of who God is. Firm in the knowledge that though darkness seems to prevail, the kingdom of God is ever increasing. Firm in the knowledge that nothing can separate you from God’s love.

We must wisely choose our battles and the weapons with which we fight. We must be willing to yield our way when God’s pure and peaceable wisdom comes to us and the peace of God floods our soul.

Jesus chided the religious Pharisees because they did not know scripture, nor did they comprehend God’s power. As believers, we must hold fast to the truth of the word of God. And in hand, we must fully grasp the power of God that is able to divinely intervene when his people call on his name.

These are the times that “try men’s souls” but you have a God who is still on his throne. Be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. Stand firm.
